13 August 2019 -Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to double Christian Eriksen's wages in order to keep him at the club beyond the ongoing campaign. Chelsea receive midfield injury scare ahead of Liverpool clash Chelsea receive double injury boost ahead of Super Cup clash The Dane has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal with the side and so far, he has given no indication of penning an extension. Despite this, the north London side have regularly held talks with the player's agent and The Mail claims that they are now prepared to elevate Eriksen's wages from £80,000-a-week to £200,000-a-week. Still, it is suggested that the attacker may continue with the contract standoff, considering money does not remain the only factor behind his reluctance to extend his Spurs stay. Eriksen only featured from the bench during the Premier League opener against Aston Villa, where Spurs made a terrific second half comeback to win 3-1 from a goal down. Aside from Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld finds himself in a similar situation at Spurs, but he appears to have made the mind up to leave on a Bosman next summer.
