14 August 2019 - Liverpool are reportedly not in a position to recall goalkeeper Loris Karius from his loan spell at Besiktas following an injury to first-choice shot-stopper Alisson Becker. Michy Batshuayi set for Chelsea exit this week? Manchester United stunned by Paul Pogba's comments Alisson picked up a calf problem during the opening league game of the season against Norwich City and reports have since emerged that he could be sidelined for around six weeks. Amidst this, there has been the talk of the Reds recalling Karius, who is currently in the latter half of his two-year loan deal at Besiktas, in order to cover up Alisson's absence. However, that appears unlikely to happen, according to The Liverpool Echo, given the Reds did not agree on a get out clause with Besiktas, when they had sanctioned the goalkeeper's exit last summer. Besiktas are said to have paid around £2.25m for the German's loan stint and they are obliged to pay another £7.5m for his permanent signing next year, provided the goalkeeper manages a certain number of appearances. Karius' last game for the Reds came during the Champions League final against Real Madrid in 2018 where he made a couple of blunders which cost the team dearly in a 3-1 defeat.
