Marco Silva sacked by Everton
The Toffees have now slipped into the relegation zone
following their 5-2 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on
Wednesday evening.
‘It was a bad game for us and a really bad night for us as
well,’ Silva said after the loss against Everton’s Merseyside
rivals.
‘They deserved the three points, no doubt, and we were not
good enough. At this level you cannot concede the five goals
the way we conceded them.
We should do better, be more
brave and win some challenges.’Silva, who signed a three-year contract when he replaced
Sam Allardyce as Everton boss in May 2018, has guided his
side to just four wins in 15 Premier League games this
season.
Everton’s majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, was due to
arrive in Liverpool on Thursday afternoon to finalise a
decision over the 42-year-old’s future.
David Moyes, who spent 11 years as Everton manager
before leaving to join Manchester United in 2013, is the
favourite to replace Silva.
Duncan Ferguson is now in temporary charge ahead of
Everton’s clash against Chelsea at Goodison Park on
Saturday.
