Mesut Ozil launches angry rant at Alexandre Lacazette after Arsenal’s defeat to Brighton

Mesut Ozil appeared to launch an angry rant at Alexandre
Lacazette moments after Arsenal ’s 2-1 defeat at home to
Brighton on Thursday evening.

Freddie Ljungberg is still searching for his first win since
replacing Unai Emery as manager last week, and his side
were booed off at full time at the Emirates Stadium following
another poor performance.

Lacazette had pulled Arsenal level following Adam Webster’s
opener in the first half but Brighton found even more space
following the Gunners’ equaliser and netted the winner with
10 minutes remaining through Neal Maupay.

After the full-time whistle, Ozil was clearly furious as
television cameras caught the midfielder angrily shouting
‘Laca’ towards Arsenal’s bench before he threw up his hand
in anger.

Lacazette would have been on Arsenal’s bench as he was
substituted in the 77
th minute.

Ozil continued shouting towards his Arsenal teammate as he
walked past Per Mertesacker and headed down the tunnel.

Speaking after the match, Hector Bellerin said he was ‘lost
for words’ after Arsenal’s latest setback.
‘I don’t know what to say.

I have the feeling that whatever
we do it doesn’t come out right,’ said the Spaniard.

‘The team gave its best, we created chances, we defended
good but it seems like we need so many chances to score
and teams score every chance against us. I am lost for
words a little bit.

‘Every single player has given 100 per cent. When we go out
on to the pitch we want to win and give our best. I feel that
our team was full of energy, it’s hard to take. We have to
keep going, I am sure 100% that results will come.

‘Football is like life sometimes, you go through ups and
downs. I have won trophies here, had good seasons and bad
seasons.

‘Freddie has helped the team a lot this week. He has added
a lot of energy to the dressing room.’
