Mohamed Salah praises Sadio Mane as he reacts to Liverpool’s win over Watford

Mohamed Salah has credited Sadio Mane for the ‘great pass’
he played to set up Liverpool’s opening goal in the side’s 2-0
victory over Watford.

Liverpool battled hard to see off a resolute Hornets side,
with Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ismaila Sarr and Gerard Deulofeu
all missing big chances for the visitors at Anfield.

The Premier League leaders initially looked to be heading
towards a regulation win as Salah beat Ben Foster with an
exquisite curled finish to break the deadlock in the 38th
minute but relegation-threatened Watford managed to keep
themselves in the contest until the dying moments.

Salah secured victory for Liverpool with an audacious flicked
finish to take his league tally to ten for the season and the
Egyptian was in good spirits as he spoke to BT Sport after
the match.

The forward made sure to highlight Mane’s inviting through
ball in the build up to his goal in the first half.

‘It was a great pass [from Mane] for the first goal,’ Salah
said.

‘We played a tough team today – the way they played, they
should not be where they are in the table.
‘We have experience in playing out games, I think sometimes
the crowd gets nervous when we have only scored once but
we are always confident of working towards the win.’On Liverpool’s display, Jurgen Klopp added: ‘It was not the
prettiest game but I am more than happy with that.

‘At this stage you have to show resilience and I believe we
did that today.

We have so many games but we are happy
with this.

‘Watford had their chances but we scored ours. We could
have made the game easier for us but it’s intense to be
constantly in charge of the game.
‘We have to defend with passion not organisation sometimes
and that was sometimes now right.’
