Gabriel Martinelli sets new Arsenal record during West Ham win
Gabriel Martinelli set a new record for Arsenal as he sparked
the Gunners’ comeback in their 3-1 win over West Ham on
Monday evening.
Freddie Ljungberg’s side were trailing by half-time but
Martinelli equalised in the 60th minute before Nicolas Pepe
and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang found the net to secure a
priceless victory.
Ljungberg made a huge decision to start Martinelli for the
first time in the Premier League this season, but the 18-year-
old rewarded Arsenal’s interim manager by making Arsenal
history.
With his goal against West Ham, Martinelli has become
Arsenal’s youngest-ever player to score during their first
Premier League start.
