Ole Gunnar Solskjaer receives full backing from Manchester United owners
Manchester United ’s owners, the Glazer family, have
personally assured Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he will not be
sacked, according to reports.
Before the start of last week, Solskjaer was under huge
pressure with United on a run of three games without a
victory.
But Solskjaer guided United to back-to-back wins over
Tottenham and Manchester City to put his side back on
course to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Speculation has continued to mount over Solskjaer’s future
at Old Trafford, especially as Mauricio Pochettino is now
available after he was sacked by Tottenham last month.
But according to MailOnline , Joel Glazer has personally
spoken to Solskjaer and has given his full backing to the
United manager.
The report claims that the Glazers are fully aware that
Solskjaer needs to be given time to rebuild his United side.
And United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is ready
to support Solskjaer by allocating more funds for new
signings ahead of the January transfer window.
United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the derby on
Saturday evening has put Solskjaer’s side fifth in the Premier
League and five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who
were beaten by Everton earlier that day.
Solskjaer is also understood to have masterminded United’s
victory over City by telling his players to target their left
flank .
